EPWP Learnerships
EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME (EPWP) is a programme to provide public or community assets or services through labour-intensive approach(es) initiated by the government and funded from public resources to provide poverty and income relief through temporary work for the unemployed. The programme offers an important avenue for labour absorption and income transfers to poor households, in the short to medium term. EPWP projects employ workers on a temporary or ongoing basis with the government, contractors, or other non-governmental organisations.
EPWP Learnerships is a fieldwork or occupational-based programme that leads to NQF registered qualification managed by Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) under-emphasis on Labour Intensive Construction (LIC) to help skill learners and prepare them for the workplace. EPWP Learning a trade will open many doors for unemployed youth in the construction and built environment industries
EPWP Learnerships Requirements
To take part in this learnership programme students must have the following minimum qualification to be qualified.
- Required to have Grade 12/NQF Level 4 Certificate.
- You are required to be a South African citizen with a valid ID Document.
- Required to have computer literate
- Required to be Proficient in English communication.
- Must be a holder of a Degree or diploma in the field applying if necessary.
Other Skills and Core Competencies:
- Good Writing and verbal communication skills.
- Coordinating Skills and Minute taking.
- Basic report-writing skills.
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good Interpersonal skills.

EPWP Learnerships Closing Date
All Learnership Applications close from June to August each year depending on the programme needed, thus, interested candidates must ensure their applications are in before the closing date and read the instructions carefully.
EPWP Learnerships Stipend
When you successfully register for this Learnership as one of the EPWP Learner team, you will be paid monthly payment in the form of a stipend for the whole period when you are on the programme.
