The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) is an organization that acts as implementing agent that provides total project management solution services for infrastructure projects to the public on behalf of the government. The Coega Development Corporation focuses on improving infrastructure delivery in the Eastern Cape by addressing skill shortages, unemployment, constrained planning and project management capacity, under-expenditure, sub-standard infrastructure, and inefficiencies that characterise infrastructure delivery by government in South Africa generally and the Eastern Cape Province in particular. In the process, Coega Development Corporation advances socio-economic development and transformation within the Eastern Cape and South Africa as a whole. Established in 1999 and located near Port Elizabeth, in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality.
Coega Internships/Learnerships: Coega as a public entity strives to ensure that it recognizes the transparency that exists in the employment sectors and to ensure that it removes the tide of youth unemployment by ensuring that they empower young people by raising their skills by providing internships and learnership training without discrimination including disability training programmes. These two internships and disability Learnerships are based on theoretical and practical aspects. They commonly run over a period of 12-24 months and are generally offered on basis of one of each part of Many projects which are complex and mega-infrastructure projects include building schools, roads and hospitals in the construction, technical and related skills sectors:

For The selected candidates to be trained and exposed to the Coega Internships/Learnerships world of work where they get a mentor who transfers skills and knowledge to an Intern in his/her field of study they must have the following qualifications to have consisted
Minimum entry requirement
- Must complete Matric( NQF level depend on Learnership Programme offered)
- Must complete tertiary theoretical studies such as Diploma or Degree
- With NCV candidates must have Mechanical, Engineering, Electrical, Mathematics or related subjects
- Legal South Africa o ID (identity Document )
- Driver license if applicable
- A proof of residents Address
