PMC Learnership Programme

(PMC is a Leading Copper mining and smelting company that also owns and operates a refinery and smelting Complex. It’s Part of Palabora Copper (Pty) Limited located in Phalaborwa in South Africa’s Limpopo Province and is one of the oldest mines in the world. The mine is named after a specific type of rock formation in the area called the Palabora Igneous Complex.

PMC Learnership is a programme that is looking for candidates who are dynamic and energic to equip them with the foundation skills and knowledge that will help them to understand and acquaint themselves with the underlying principles of all of the major areas related to the mining industry, thus enabling them to become more effective employees. During the programme, the candidate will perform random responsibility in supporting Organisation activities to ensure productivity increases as well as career development under the supervision of a Professional Mentor. PMC recognizes that employees rely on the development and success of their business to build and maintain their livelihoods.

PMC Learnership Requirements

To be eligible for this learnership position candidates must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric/ NQF Level 4 Certificate Holder or equivalent is essential.
Relevant National Diploma/ Degree Qualification or Equivalent when applicable.
Valid driver’s license when necessary.
Basic Computer literacy.
Good communication skills.
Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
Neat and clear criminal record.

Working Conditions

Qualified at NQF level 2/ National Certificate in Health, Safety & Environmental Sciences
Qualified at Heath & Safety representative skills programme
Qualified at Competency B skills programme
Has Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 First Aid knowledge
Has Level 4 Basic Firefighting knowledge
Not afraid of heights

PMC Learnership Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a minimum amount as the Learnership Stipend covers expenses like travel and meals. This means the candidate will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.
