W&RSETA Learnership
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) is a public entity established to address skills development within the Wholesale and Retail sector by providing learning opportunities, financial assistance, and monitoring of education and training. The main mission is to contribute to the socioeconomic development and growth of the country by enabling education and training of the highest quality in the wholesale and retail sectors, to the benefit of employers, employees and learners respectively.
W&RSETA Learnership is an opportunity offered to young talented and kin individuals to address skills shortages within the South African economy since the youth unemployment rate has risen graphically threatening the collapse of the South African economy.W&RSETA believe that through a learnership programme, they will be able to contribute towards creating jobs and resolving the unemployment crisis. There are a number of different advantages for individuals who participate in learnerships including
- They provide a way for learners to get a qualification while working full-time.
- Work experience forms an integral part of the learnership, The unemployed and school leavers can benefit from the work experience and use this opportunity to network for jobs within the sector.
- These are not time-based and if a learner is able to gain credit within a shorter period of time, they can get the certificates to show that they are competent.
W&RSETA Learnership Requirements.
The applicants who meet the minimum requirements qualifications will be selected for W&RSETA Learnership are:
- Matric/National Certificate/Vocational (NCV) Level 4.
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma certificate qualification
- Relevant Diploma or advanced certificate or equivalent.
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Computer literacy will add advantages.
- Clear and clean Criminal record.

W&RSETA Learnership Stipend
A Special minimum allowance will be provided to all successful applicants. It’s not a salary but will be referred to as a Learnership stipend covering expenses like travel and meals. The amount paid will depend on the SETA, the type of learnership and the level of qualification. The allowances and conditions are agreed to with each learner before the commencement of the learnership.
