SAFCOL Learnership Programme
South African Forestry Company SOC Limited (SAFCOL) is a government Company that is mandated to conduct forestry business which includes timber harvesting, timber processing and related activities, both domestically and internationally, under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), primarily involved in the forestry industry with operations in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, as well as in the southern half (Manica and Sofala provinces) of Mozambique.
SAFCOL Learnership is a programme that is looking for candidates who are dynamic and energic to equip them with the foundation skills and knowledge that will help them to understand and acquaint themselves with the underlying principles of all of the major areas related Forestry (Silviculture and Harvesting), as well as Processing, Furniture Making, Community House Building (Timber Frame Structures) and End-User Computing. Training programmes involve both theoretical and practical instruction and culminate in a fully qualified qualification, endorsed by the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA and the Media, Information and Communication Technologies SETA.
SAFCOL Learnership Requirements.
To be eligible for this learnership position candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate Holder or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in a relevant field will be added as an advantage.
- Candidate must be unemployed for the moment
- Candidate must of aged between 18 to 35 years.
- The candidate must be a South African Citizen with a Valid Identity Document.
- Valid driver’s license when necessary.
- Basic Computer literacy.

SAFCOL Learnership Closing Date
Applications for the SAFCOL Learnership must be submitted before the closing date as shown in relevant adverts. Currently, Learnerships are advertised annually in November/December. Applicants are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible, as SAFCOL will only accept applications submitted on time. If there is no correspondence received within 1 month of the advertisement Consider your application unsuccessful.
SAFCOL Learnership Stipend
Successful Learnership candidates will receive a minimum rate of remuneration. The learnership stipend will cover travel and accommodation expenses. This means that learners will receive monthly remuneration throughout the learnership period. All External Learnership candidates are provided with training material, appropriate tools and equipment, daily lunch and PPE clothing. In some instances, learners may also be provided with accommodation.
