RBCT Learnership Programme

Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) is a world-leading coal export terminal located in Port of Richards Bay, South Africa. Opened in 1976 with an initial capacity of 12 Mt/a, RBCT is South Africa’s Coal Exporting Party (CEP). RBCT provides a world-class logistics service to facilitate the export of coal for South Africa’s CEP’s. Situated in one of the world’s deep seaports, RBCT can handle large ships and large quantities of coal. The terminal has a strong cooperation relationship with South Africa’s national utility Transnet. Transnet provides the railway services connecting the coal mine to the port and the shipping coordination for over 900 ships per year.

RBCT Learnership programme is designed for South African people who are interested in pursuing a career in the coal industry. During the Learnership, students will be tested through a combination of theory assessments and practical work sessions with the assistance of experienced professionals.

RBCT Learnership Requirements

In order to be eligible for this learnership position candidates must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12/Matric/ NQF Qualification certificate or equavalent.
A diploma or degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualification.
A degree in Electronics/Electrical Light Current (S4 / N6) will be advantageous
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (N6) Qualification as a Millwright or Electrician (N6) will be advantageous
Basic Computer Literacy in Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Good communication skills(Written and Verbal).
A valid Drivers License will be added an advantage.
Demonstrate problem-solving and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated
Ability to work well with others
Ability to be physically fit, particularly colour-blind or have a phobia of heights
Ability to work in heavy industry work environment.
Excellent electronics and digital system knowledge

RBCT Learnership Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a minimum amount as the Learnership Stipend covers expenses like travel and meals. This means the candidate will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.
