The National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) is South Africa’s largest diagnostic pathology service and provides medical support to national and provincial health authorities. The NHLS is a laboratory network that provides public health services to over 80% of the population. These laboratories specialise in different areas of science, including pathology and laboratory services. They work together to improve the quality of care for patients by using technology and research.
NHLS Learnership offers placements for passionate young kin who crave to train as NHLS medical technicians learnership professional team l. the program is designed to turn qualified students into full-fledged medical scientists.NHLS placements will take place in different midst, depending on the dimension you wish to pursue including Virology, Anatomical Pathology, Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Medical Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetic Counselling, Analytical Chemistry, Immunology and Human Genetics.
NHLS Learnership Requirements
For a candidate to be selected the following are the minimum requirements and key competencies to adhere to.
- Relevant Degree/Diploma certificate or equivalent.
- Grade 12 certificate with a Mathematics designation.
- Communication skills(written and verbal).
- Valid South African Driver’s license.
- Computer literacy.

- Planning, organizing and process management.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly.
- Data management, analysis and interpretation skills

NHLS Learnership Stipend.
A monthly stipend will be offered to the successful Candidate, NHLS will not provide accommodation or transportation. Each candidate pays for meals, transport or accommodation if necessary with their stipend.
