Mintek Learnership recruits young professional inexperienced candidates to train them so as to be able to develop future highly trained and experienced professionals in the mineral sector that can provide advanced technical expertise for the more effective extraction, utilisation and beneficiation of South Africa’s mineral wealth. This programme allows candidates the opportunity to gain work experience by providing them with the necessary guidance, working environment, training and support explicitly developing a tailored work plan and performance assessment system, providing working stations and resources, allocating a mentor and providing work-specific training programmes to observe the candidate attitude, skills and capabilities.
Mintek Learnership Requirements
The ideal candidate with the following minimum eligibility criteria requirements is encouraged to apply.
- A valid Grade 12 / Martic certification
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in a relevant field added an advantage
- National Certificate(N2 qualification
- A valid Driver’s License when required.
- Professional recognition and registration are added advantages.
- Computer and Smartphone knowledge

NB. interested candidates from any higher learning institution with an average of 60% or above in the relevant field may apply. The field included Mining Engineer, Geology Majoring in one of the following Economic Geology, Mineralogy, Applied Geology, and Petrology. Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing Chemistry, Geochemistry or Analytical Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Process Control, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Metallurgy, and Materials Science.

Mintek Learnership Closing Date
Mintek learnership closing dates vary depending on company needs Usually most of the time opens at the start of each year and closes in July throughout the year.
Mintek Learnership Stipend
The Learner will receive a monthly stipend where the amount is approximate to be around R84 000.00 per year for the entire period of learnership and this will cover meals and transportation.
