Mail & Guardian is South Africa’s leading independent news provider and Africa’s best-read newspaper Publishing. The Mail & Guardian has been hailed for becoming Weekly Mail formerly because it is the most informed and daring chronicler of the dying years of apartheid in South Africa. Mail & Guardian is South Africa’s premier source of news and perspective. The Mail & Guardian is a news publication known for its investigative journalism and commentary. It is independent and committed to quality. The newspaper has been published every week since 1985, and in 1994, it became the first news organisation in South Africa to launch a website.
Mail & Guardian Learnership programme was implemented as an economic strategy to reduce the unemployment rate in South Africa by helping youth who needed to be exposed to their potential in the working palace environment. Learnershpis programme responds to the government’s economic policy to prevent disasters of having a lot of young people who do not have a stable economy and poverty, youth unemployment remains untenably high at about 64%.
Mail & Guardian Learnership Requirements.
Some of the minimum qualification an ideal candidate must hold are as follow:
- Grade 12/ matric certificate qualification
- Diploma or degree where necessary
- Must be a South African citizens
- Hold a valid ID book or document
- Computer literacy will added advantage
- Credit and criminal records

Mail & Guardian Learnership Stipend.
The programme will be held for 12 months during which the successful individual will receive a modest monthly stipend for the entire time of the learnership period based on the learnership agreement made between the learners and the company and actually will consider the qualification that the individual possesses.
