INSETA Learnership
The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) is a public statutory body established to promote, facilitate and monitor education and skills development provision in the insurance and related services sector. their main focus is to invest in the education and skills development of new entrants into the insurance sector and of the current insurance sector workforce to enhance the economic growth of the sector, facilitate the creation of decent jobs and promote the transformation of the sector.
INSETA Learnership is programmed that looking employ young unemployed youth as a response to the government strategy of helping youth people become skilled and capable workforce to support an inclusive career growth path for their future professional life to reduce the youth unemployment rate that has become a threat to the economic growth of South Africa in the future. This learnership programme is 12 and 24 months in duration the focus will be on the insurance sector.
INSETA represents the following sub-sectors within the insurance industry: Activities auxiliary to Financial Intermediation, Funeral Insurance, Health care benefits administration, Insurance and Pension Funding, Life insurance, Pension Funding and Reinsurance, Risk management, Short term insurance, Unit trusts. The qualification is registered with Insecta and Unit Standard Based, meaning that it will be accredited by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
INSETA Learnership Requirements.
The ideal candidate who wants to apply for the position must process the following minimum requirements qualification:
- Matric/Standard 10/Grade 12 Certificate qualification or equivalent
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
- Unemployed between 18 and 30 years old
- Mathematics or Maths Literacy will be advantageous
- English and 2nd language will add an advantage.
- Computer literacy will add an advantage.

INSETA Learnership Closing Date.
Applications closing Date for this learnership close in January/February every year. No applications will be considered outside of application window time-frames as prescribed by INSETA unless the application is for a self-funded learnership. Application windows will be announced via the INSETA website. The INSETA call centre and other mechanisms of communication may be used at the discretion of INSETA.
INSETA Learnership Stipend.
The successfully Selected candidate will receive a monthly learnership stipend of R 4000 for the case of Unemployed Disabled learnership and R 3000 for Unemployed learnership for 12 – 24 consecutive months as prescribed on the Learnership agreement documentation. The stipend will cover transport and meal costs INSETA will not be responsible for any accommodation keep in mind that during your workplace training, you will be responsible for your accommodation, transport and meal costs, so you should apply for a learnership closest to where you live.
