DWS Learnership/ Department of Water and Sanitation Learnership is offered to exceptionally talented young candidates to gain experience within their non-technical fields to make them more employable. The programme also allows the candidate to gain practical work experience to obtain a formal qualification. The purpose of this programme is to improve service delivery and to foster skills transfer through mentoring. The programme will run over 12-24 months, whereby students will take part in on-the-job training, including practical learning and theoretical Learning.

For the ideal candidate to be selected to take part in this programme, there are minimum eligibility criteria required to have as follows:
- National diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in the relevant field (where applicable).
- Grade 12 / Martic certification or equivalent qualification.
- Citizen of South Africa or have valid work and possess an Identity Card.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must not have partaken in any other learnership before this application.
- Evidence of residence.
- Good Computer skills.
- Communication Skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving Skills.
