The Department of Public Service Administration (DPSA) is a central body of the South African government responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the state machinery through the implementation of norms and standards, the implementation of interventions to ensure compliance and the functioning of the public service, the promotion of a public service of ethical character through the implementation of programmes, systems, and frameworks and the prevention and detection of corruption and the promotion of public administration excellence in Africa and globally through dialogue and the exchange of best practices.
DPSA Learnership is a program established to provide services to the general public to increase the efficiency of service deliverance, administration, and responsiveness, as well as the productiveness of all Departments in South Africa. The program operates under the government’s authority, and working in the DPSA means that the individual will be providing services directly to the country and indirectly to the people. This Learnership program gives talented individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within their selected field to provide for society under the leadership of the government.
DPSA Learnership Requirements.
The basic requirements interested candidates should meet to ensure that they are being selected for the programme are as follows:
- A valid Grade 12 / Martic certification.
- A diploma or degree in the relevant field when necessary.
- Must be a citizen of South Africa of age between 18 and 35 years.
- Must Possess excellent communication skills.
- Candidates must willing to relocate or move around when needed because some of the locations are in rural areas.
- Candidate must have a versatile personality who can work independently.
- Candidate must be computer literate with basic Windows Office knowledge.
- Candidate must have clean and neat criminal records.
- Applicants must have an English Language proficiency.
- Excellent Communication (written and verbal);

DPSA Learnership Stipend
Successful candidates will receive a minimum amount as the Learnership Stipend covers expenses like travel and meals. This means the candidate will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.
