Department of Education Learnership
Department of Education is a government department that oversees primary and secondary education in South Africa. The Department of Basic Education was created when the National Department of Education was divided into two separate departments: the Department of Basic Education and the Department of Higher Education and Training.
The DBE is a government organization that helps to improve the quality of education in South Africa, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It does this by providing support to schools to keep up with the latest education trends and technologies, including literacy programs for adults. The Department of Basic Education has a vision for a South Africa where everyone has access to education and training opportunities that will help them improve their quality of life and build a peaceful, prosperous society.

Department of Education Learnership Requirements.
Candidates interested in a Department learnership will have to meet all requirements as set out:
- Matric qualification or equivalent qualification.
- National diploma or degree in the relevant field (where applicable)
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Good Computer literacy in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and
- MS Access
- A valid driver’s license will serve as an advantage
- South African citizens
- Must hold a valid ID document.
Department of Education Learnership 2024/2025 online application.

Please visit the Department of Education’s website or the Department of Public Service and Administration vacancy circulars. Applications must be submitted on form Z83 obtainable from any Public Service Department and must be accompanied by a comprehensive CV and certified copies of qualifications. The Z83 must be completed in full and page 2 duly signed. A clear indication of the post and reference number that is being applied must be indicated on your Z83. Department of Education Learnership Closing Date.
The closing date at which applications must be submitted usually is around the middle of the year, June, July, and August. Each Department may have altered closing dates, thus, it’s advised for interested candidates to consult their respective local Department of Education before applying. Candidates should visit the website regularly for updated information.
Department of Education Learnership Stipend.
The candidate will be paid the minimum monthly student allowance known as the Learnership Stipend, which is expected to be paid to all successfully recruited candidates in the Learnership Program for the entire duration of the program, covering expenses such as travel and food.
