South Africa’s National Defense Force (SANDF) serves as the armed forces of the country. They are accountable to the Minister of Defense and Military Veterans of the Defense Department. The SANDF is actively engaged in several domestic operations, including safeguarding the nation’s borders, eliminating illegal weapons from the nation, providing assistance in the event of a crisis, and safeguarding South Africa’s security. The SANDF also participates in UN peacekeeping operations, predominantly in Africa.
