Ampath is Southern Africa’s foremost pathology laboratory. they are proud to offer innovative, professional, and quality pathology and laboratory medicine services that are provided to healthcare practitioners and patients. Ampath provides a variety of services to clinical laboratories. These laboratories offer a wide variety of tests and are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They serve around 40% of the private healthcare market in South Africa. Ampth has a national network of more than 150 labs, including reference labs, regional labs, and satellite (STAT) labs. Ampth performs over 75,000 tests daily, including referrals from other labs and abroad.

Ampath Learnership offers Phlebotomy Technician Learnership to candidates who wish to be trained in a medical laboratory and participate in classroom and workplace learning. Phlebotomy Technician Learnership prepares candidates to technically fully act upon their duty of drawing or removing blood from the circulatory system through a puncture to obtain a blood sample for analysis and diagnosis not only that but also candidates will be able to perform treatment for certain blood disorders patients without hesitation. This program will last for two years, and successful candidates will be offered permanent employment opportunities.

Ampath Learnership Requirements.

Candidates wishing to apply for this learnership position must ensure that they meet the following minimum criteria:

South African ID or a valid South African work permit.
Grade 12 with English, Biology (Life Sciences) and Mathematics
Basic computer literacy ie. MS Word and MS Excel.
Valid South African driver’s license.
HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field.
Good Knowledge of the HPCSA regulations.
Exceptional Knowledge of the Meditech system.
Strong Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA).
A better understanding of the National Health Act.

Ampath Learnership Stipend.
