SAIPA Learnership Programme
SAIPA – South African Institute of Professional Accountants is the premier professional accounting organisation in South Africa, representing suitably qualified Chartered Accountants (SA) in business, commerce, industry, academia, and the public sector. SAIPA has played a pioneering role in the development of South Africa’s economy, playing a role in the advancement of the accounting profession, influencing legislation, and continually adapting to keep abreast of economic, financial, and social developments within the country and abroad.
A SAIPA Learnership is a practical training programme whereby an individual is employed at a SAIPA-Accredited Training Centre (ATC) for a period of three years to gain suitable professional accounting experience. Upon completing your degree and 3 years of SAIPA learnership you will need to complete and pass SAIPA’s Professional Assessment (PE). The SAIPA PE is a written assessment that is done twice a year, in June & November. The programme will cover the following areas Financial Reporting, Management Accounting / Financial Management, Taxation, Auditing / Internal Auditing 2, Commercial Law. Practical experience can also be obtained by completing a learnership of any other professional body.
SAIPA Learnership Requirements
In order to be eligible for this learnership position candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Completed a B Com Degree in Accounting at a recognized university which includes the following core subjects:
- Financial Accounting 3
- Taxation 2
- Auditing or Internal Auditing 2 or Internal Control & Code of Ethics
- Corporate Law 1 or Commercial Law 2
- Management Accounting 2
- B-Tech and/or honors will be Advantageous.
- Grade 12 / Matric/ NQF Level 4 Certificate Holder or equivalent is essential.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Computer literate knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
- Own a vehicle or reliable transport.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

SAIPA Learnership Stipend
Successful candidates will receive a minimum amount as the Learnership Stipend covers expenses like travel and meals. This means the candidate will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.
