The National Treasury is a statutory body that is responsible for managing South Africa’s national government finances. Supporting efficient and sustainable public financial management is essential since it helps promote economic development, good government, social progress, and a better life for all South Africans.
The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa requires the National Treasury to make sure that government finances are transparent, accountable, and in good financial control. Also, they have been given the mandate to be responsible for promoting the government’s fiscal policy framework, coordinating macroeconomic policy, managing the budget preparation process, facilitating the Division of Revenue Act, and monitoring the implementation of provincial budgets. lastly, The National Treasury will continue to help reduce poverty and vulnerability by allocating financial resources in the best way possible in all areas of government.
National Treasury Learnership is an opportunity for young unemployed South African youth to grow their career and skills development in the best way possible for their future professional life. This department has a variety of learnerships to offer successful candidates within a wide range of fields. Most fields will be in alignment with the department’s needs. Fields may vary, yet candidates can have a look at Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Industrial Psychology, Econometrics, Management, and Advisory Services.
National Treasury Learnership Requirements
The basic requirements qualification candidate must meet may include the following:
- South African citizen with valid ID document
- valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Unemployed of 18 to 35 years of age.
- Relevant diploma/ degree certificate in a related field or equivalent qualification.
- Computer Literacy will add an advantage
- Exceptional communication in the English Language.

National Treasury learnership applications online are made available via their website. Click the Graduate program tab to view the available positions at the moment and then click the link to apply will take you to National Treasury recruitment. All candidates should apply through the e-Recruitment System which means all candidates must log in/register to apply for positions, they no longer accept applications via email or hand-delivered/post. National Treasury Learnership Stipend
successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the entire duration of the Learnership Programme.
