SAPREF Learnership Programme
SAPREF is the largest crude oil refinery in the country, with 35% of South Africa’s refining capacity. SAPREF is a joint venture between Shell Refining SA and BP Southern Africa.
SAPREF makes 10 main products in 46 different grades. The refinery’s products include petrol, diesel, jet fuel, lubricating oil, liquid petroleum gas, paraffin, solvents, bitumen, marine fuel oil, and chemical feedstocks.
SAPREF Learnership offers different learning programmes to graduates as on-the-job training to equip them with both practical and theory-on-work-based experience. They start the recruitment for learnerships in the third quarter of the year for the following year. Adverts will be published on our career page.
SAPREF offers learnerships and apprenticeships in the following fields of study:
- Chemical Operations Learnership
- Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship
- Instrument Mechanician Apprenticeship
- Electrician Apprenticeship
- Rigging Apprenticeship
SAPREF Learnership Requirements
To be an eligible candidate for the SAPREFLearnership requirements.
- South African citizenship
- Completed Grade 12 with a minimum pass of 50% in Mathematics and Physical
- Science
- Completed all modules in relevant equivalent s4 for the In-service Training Opportunity
